Jahreswechsel auf Spanisch:
12 Weintrauben im Becher vor dem Rathaus stehend und wartend. Papphut auf dem Kopf, bunte Ketten und weißer Sprühschaum bedecken den Mantel.
Bei jedem Schlag der Kirchenuhr soll eine Weintraube gegessen werden, begleitet durch einen Wunsch. Klingt einfach. Gespannt warten wir auf das Startzeichen unserer spanischen Freunde. Jetzt, 1. Weintraube in den Mund...Nein doch nicht jetzt...Ich höre kein Läuten und mein Mund ist voller Weintrauben, welche ich nicht schlucken darf...bringt Unglück. Plötzlich Feuerwerk...Schnell weitere 8 Weintrauben in den Mund gestopft und auf Weltfrieden hoffen. Für mehr bleibt keine Zeit. FELIZ AñO NUEVO Küsse, Sekt und Umarmungen.
2010...lass es krachen.

New Years in Spanish:
holding 12 grapes in a cup and waiting anxiously in front of the city hall for 2010 to start. Jacket covered in white foam and screaming kids all over. When the clock starts ringing in the new year you have to eat one grape each strike, in total 12 grapes and making a wish accompanying each grape into your mouth and down your throat.
Sounds easy.....waiting for our spanish friends to give us the start signal we already prepared our grapes to fall fast into our hands. NOW...grape 1 grape 2..oh STOP no not yet, dont eat them...not hearing a thing and my mouth full of grapes that I weren't supposed to swallow (for bad luck)...Out of the sudden, Fireworks : 2010 FELIZ AñO NUEVO, kisses hugs and champagne popping everywhere. Quickly stuffing all the other 8 grapes in my mouth, world peace being the fastest wish I could think of to accompany my big grape swallow...2010...here it comes
